This plan, developed in response to recommendations from the Auditor-General's report, aims to improve financial performance, governance structures, and service delivery.

Our bi-weekly meetings are essential for maintaining accountability, transparency, and efficiency in local government.

This initiative is being carried out in partnership with several key stakeholders, including the Department of Employment and Labour, Childline, and the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA)....

Through this collaboration, the YDO aims to empower local youth by providing them with the necessary resources and guidance to enhance their career prospects and access higher education opportunities.

The Acting Executive Mayor, Councillor Mokhomo, together with Members of the Mayoral Committee (MMCs) and senior management, led by the Municipal Manager, Advocate Ngoqo, convened a strategic meeting today with representatives from Gold One.

The primary focus of the discussion was the development of a new mining operation in Hennenman and the various community projects the company intends to implement in Phomolong, Hennenman....

Both Councillors representing the Hennenman area were present to advocate for their respective communities' interests.

This initiative marks a substantial investment in Matjhabeng, poised to create job opportunities and drive economic growth, particularly for local residents.

This meeting comes at a critical time, as the Municipality is actively working to attract investments with the broader vision of transforming Matjhabeng into the economic hub of the Free State.

Matjhabeng Local Municipality officially launched a 3km road project in Ward 10, Kutlwanong K9

The Acting Executive Mayor of Matjhabeng Local Municipality, Cllr. Hlobohang Mokhomo, officially launched a 3km road project today in Ward 10, Kutlwanong K9.

The project, valued at over R23 million, aims to upgrade the existing gravel roads to surfaced roads, significantly improving access to individual households.

The initiative will create job opportunities for at least 50 local residents and provide economic opportunities for at least four subcontractors. ...

The project is expected to be completed within six months, using block paving to promote labor-intensive construction methods that further support job creation.

During his remarks, Acting Executive Mayor Mokhomo emphasised the municipality’s commitment to improving residents' quality of life and promoting sustainable development.

He highlighted the importance of involving competent local subcontractors who have demonstrated their capacity to deliver quality work.

Additionally, he stressed the need for community vigilance against corrupt construction practices, particularly the threat posed by so-called "construction mafias." Reiterating President Ramaphosa's stance, Cllr. Mokhomo urged residents to report any irregularities, ensuring that public funds are used effectively and that the project benefits the entire community.
