  • Matjhabeng Local Municipality invites applications from unemployed youth, residing in Matjhabeng areas, in line with the Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET) category, to apply for participation in the Youth Graduate Projects 2025.
  • This initiative is part of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) and aims to empower and equip youth with relevant skills and experience in key environmental focus areas while addressing the country’s environmental, social, and economic challenges.

    Climate Change Ambassadors
  • • Support South Africa’s efforts to combat climate change by participating in initiatives related to climate change mitigation, adaptation, disaster risk reduction, and the development of early warning systems to build resilient communities.
  • Forestry Monitors
  • • Contribute to the sustainable management and protection of forests, promoting their social and economic value and supporting development through monitoring and advocacy.
  • Waste Campaigners
  • • Help raise awareness in communities about the harmful effects of illegal dumping and littering. Participate in education and outreach campaigns promoting sustainable waste management practices and environmental well-being.
  • Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Compliance Officers
  • • Ensure health and safety compliance across EPWP projects. Participants will support the implementation of OHS regulations in environmental workspaces and enhance workplace safety, particularly under Youth Graduate initiatives.

  1. Grade 12 with mathematics or equivalent Technical Qualification NQF Level 4 in Civil Engineering plus Registered Plumber Certificate and 3 years supervisory experience.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAs
  • • Administration mainly recording overtime, time sheets, reports and correspondence.
  • • Control of stock and assets.
  • • Compile monthly reports, time sheets, etc.
  • • Public liaison, deal directly with public and other parties regarding queries regarding Water, Sewer, Roads and Stormwater.
  • • Site inspections for problem solving.
  • • Supervision over Water, Sewer, Roads and Stormwater Workforce at Allanridge/ Nyakallong.
  • • Give technical support for Civil Engineering Services.
  • • Fleet management over the Water, Sewer, Roads and Stormwater Fleet and equipment.
