KEY PERFORMANCE AREAs
  • • Broad control of the administration associated with litigation, and coordinating the implementation of procedures, systems and controls, which also includes maintenance of accurate records of legal documents, correspondence, and case files;
  • • Conduct legal research to support litigation strategies and case preparation;
  • • Monitor amendments in legislation and ensure municipal policies and procedures comply and are in line with new regulations;
  • • Co-ordinate the administrative dimension associated with the processing of the litigation related queries and complaints;
  • • Ensure that administrative and Branch’s procedure and guidelines are adopted, applied and complied with, at all transactions;
  • • Develop and implement litigation strategies to protect the municipality's interests;
  • • Collaborate with external legal counsel and oversee their work on complex litigation matters;
  • • Ensure the Branch capably support the Department’s service delivery objectives through the provision of accurate and up to date information;
  • • Control workflow processes and output levels of administrative personnel;
  • • Co-ordinate consultation with external legal practitioners and internal personnel,
  • • Attend to consultations with Counsel, and court hearings report back;
  • • Attend to arbitrations, and sequestration inquiries where applicable;
  • • Monitor and report on the progress and outcomes of litigation cases to Municipal management; and
