Operation Patala: Pay for Services, Power Progress
Matjhabeng Local Municipality has launched Operation Patala, a bold campaign to restore the culture of paying for
municipal services. When residents pay, the Municipality can deliver services better and faster.
...
Service payments fund essential needs like water, sanitation, electricity, road repairs, waste collection, cemeteries,
public halls, and emergency services. Without this revenue, services decline and infrastructure deteriorates.
To support vulnerable households, the Indigent Support Policy offers 50 kWh of electricity and 6 kilolitres of water
free per month. Usage beyond this is billed, and non-payment may lead to disconnection.
Residents are urged to pay outstanding accounts, register as indigents if eligible, make affordable arrangements, and
visit customer service centres for assistance.
Payment Details:
Bank: ABSA Bank
Branch: Brandwag, Bloemfontein
Account Name: Matjhabeng Municipality
Account Number: 4053705465
Branch Code: 632 005
Type: Cheque Account
Use your 8-digit municipal account number as reference.
Let’s work together to keep Matjhabeng clean, functional, and thriving.
